Snippety Crickets Children's Hair Salon

Snippety Crickets is a hair salon that caters to children. This kid-friendly salon has a large assortment of toys and books for sale at the entrance of their establishment. The back of the salon is where the actual hair cutting takes place. There you will find the walls covered with pictures of children who had their hair cut. The stylists are extremely accomodating and will allow your preschooler to sit on your lap while they cut his hair. If your preschooler is willing, they have a booster seat that attaches on the styling chair. This setup is perfect for younger preschoolers. The stylists are fast, which is a really good skill when cutting the hair of a preschooler.

What preschoolers love about Snippety Crickets

Preschoolers can play with handheld toys while getting their hair cut, usually making for a pleasant haircutting experience. The salon is stocked with a variety of toys geared toward all ages.

The waiting area has a large train table and plenty of toys. This keeps the preschoolers entertained while they wait their turn.

What parents love about Snippety Crickets

The stylists cut hair fast, usually under 10 minutes. It helps to have a clear idea of how you want your preschooler's hair cut.

Preschoolers love coming here. Since there is an abundance of toys, their main objective is to play. Preschoolers accept the fact that they are getting their hair cut when they have a ton of toys at their disposal.

What parents should know about Snippety Crickets

The cost of a haircut is $17 in Berkeley and $19 in San Francisco. This seems to be on the higher end for a preschooler's haircut.

Reservations are recommended. There are only two stylists working at the same time. This place is packed on the weekends so if weekends work best for your schedule, you should reserve a slot a few weeks in advance. Weekdays are more forgiving but it wouldn't hurt to reserve a time then also.

You have to walk through the toy store area when entering and exiting the salon. If your child is the type to whine/beg/cry for a toy, this won't be a fun excursion.
